Drift's organic traffic went from 3K to 107K in three months
Drift builds a CLI agent for robotics simulation. My KPIs were to find one channel that works, grow organic traffic and users, and open partnerships.
My role
- Senior Growth Consultant at Drift, on contract. Drift is a robotics simulation startup backed by Antler.
- I owned go-to-market and growth end to end, and built the blog, video content and wrap-up email program from scratch.
- I didn't know robotics, so I first built myself a four-week course on ROS 2, Gazebo and sim-to-real.
- I wrote every word we put out: blogs, demo scripts, and the X, YouTube and LinkedIn copy.

Organic search
40 SEO blogs took organic traffic from 3K to 107K in three months.
What I saw
"A CLI agent for robotics simulation" meant nothing to most people, and nobody searched for Drift. They did search for the problems our demos solved.
The bet: write an SEO blog for each problem a demo solved, like "What is MuJoCo?", so people searching for the problem find Drift.
Blogs
- I wrote a blog for every demo: tutorials, explainers and opinion pieces on robotics simulation.
- The user base more than doubled, from 256 to 580, driven entirely by video and blog content.

The channel: X
Finding one channel that works was my first KPI. X became it: 200K+ views, 700+ followers, 4.5K engagements and 1K bookmarks in three months, from two product demos and two topical videos every week.
The weekly demo program
- Every week we posted two product demos and two topical videos. Our intern built and recorded each demo. I picked the topics from X and Reddit threads and sent him the threads to build from.
- I directed the edit and chose the voiceover in ElevenLabs.
- I ran the calendar: which topic went out which week, in step with what sim developers were talking about.
- Robotics founders started reposting our demos.
YouTube and LinkedIn
The same demos went to YouTube and LinkedIn, with copy I wrote for each.
- YouTube: 6.5K views in 90 days, up 865%, and 83 new subscribers. Thumbnails got 79.1K impressions at a 4.9% click-through rate. "What Is MuJoCo?" is the top video.
- LinkedIn page: 26,172 impressions, up 437.9%, and reactions up 650%. The page has 1,402 followers.

Partnerships and influencers
Cold DMs on X and cold emails through Apollo got many replies, and four turned into proper partnership calls.
- The emails ran on Apollo automation, so none of them were personalised.
- One booked a call for early 2027.
- One did a demo with us.
- A senior leader with more than a decade in the industry may join the bigger picture. The founders loved talking to him.
- One said Drift was too small for them for now, and to reconnect later.
Influencers
- I reached out to 45 influencers to try the product and make content and videos for us, and got on calls with a few.
What didn't work: we postponed the influencer campaign, so none of those conversations turned into videos.
How it connects
- Robotics threads on X and Reddit
- weekly demos and topical videos
- posts on X, YouTube and LinkedIn
- an SEO blog on the same problem
- search traffic
- signups
